War of the Factions FAQ

Calling all warriors! It’s time to decide. When noble Knights, brutal Vikings, and deadly Samurai collide on the same battlefield for the first time in history…. WHO WILL REIGN SUPREME? Before you step onto the battlefield, you must first choose a side. Pledge your sword to the Knights of the Iron Legion, the Warborn Viking clans, or the Samurai of the Dawn Empire in-game. Then, prove yourself worthy on the greatest battleground the world has ever seen by fighting for your faction. All warriors who fight during Beta will reap the rewards. Yet only one Faction will reap all the glory. Your legend begins now.

War of the Factions is a global, persistent, and cross-platform event that brings to life the ongoing war between For Honor’s 3 factions: the Knights, the Vikings, and the Samurai. All Multiplayer gameplay during the For Honor Beta contributes to the global War of the Factions leaderboard.

Enlist in the War of the Factions by signing up for the Beta. All multiplayer gameplay from all players who participate in the Beta will impact the global leaderboard. The Faction who conquers the most territory at the end of Beta reigns supreme.

Pledge your sword to the Knights of the Iron Legion, the Warborn Viking clans, or the Samurai of the Dawn Empire From the game’s main menu.

Once you choose a side, all of your Beta victories will count toward your Faction’s global world score, even if you decide to play individual matches as other Faction warriors.

For example, if you pledge yourself to the Vikings, you will always fight for the Vikings in the War of the Factions, even if you decide to play matches as a warrior from either the Samurai or Knights.

Bottom line, you can fight as any warrior, from any Faction, at any time, after pledging.

The World Map is the hub of the Faction War, which is the in-game metagame that powers the War of the Factions event. Accessible from the game’s main menu, the World Map is divided into 3 different Faction controlled territories. The Faction controlling the most Territories at the end of Beta wins.

At the end of every multiplayer match, you will be awarded a certain number of War Assets depending on your performance. Those War Assets can then be distributed in 3 ways:
1. All War Assets are spent on one single contested Territory
2. War Assets are spent equally on all contested Territories
3. If you do not manually invest War Assets, they will be automatically allocated for you

All War Assets from multiplayer matches, even against AI, contribute to the War of the Factions event.

Everyone who plays in the Beta will be rewarded with exclusive in-game loot. Visit the Rewards section for details, as more rewards are still to be announced.
